Helping students go further
yougofurther.co.uk is full of features to help year 12, S5 or equivalent students get ready for higher education life.
'yougo', as it is more commonly known, is a student community site brought to you by UCAS. There is a dedicated area for year 12, S5 or equivalent students who will be able to take advantage of all its benefits.
Students can create profile pages and take part in the student-only community areas, such as forums. These areas allow students to chat and interact with others who are also applying to college or university.
What students will get by joining yougo
- Tailored information on higher education courses and institutions.
- Help with the UCAS application process from online advisers.
- Regular information and advice, provided in newsletters written in association with HELOA. Copies of these newsletters will be sent to you, so you can see the information sent to your students.
- Access to the yougo forums - students can chat online to like-minded students about current higher education issues, courses they are interested in studying at university or college, and where in the country they hope to study.
- Web chats with universities, colleges and UCAS advisers.
- The ability to talk to universities and colleges online on a one-to-one basis using the institutions' own dedicated pages on the website.
- 'You Can' magazine published by The Independent in association with UCAS is delivered to the student's UK address in May, September and November, plus e-zine versions sent to all teachers/advisers whose students have registered on the site.
- A discount card giving them special offers with many high street names.
The best thing about yougo is that it is free to join. It can help students get the most out of the UCAS application process, and remember - it's exclusively for students.
