Managing the online application process

To cater for the varying training needs of advisers helping students into higher education, our specialist trainers are offering a range of training modules to help you manage the application systems we operate, UCAS, GTTR and CUKAS.

Learning through hands-on experience in our interactive sessions is very popular, but if you prefer to have only a demonstration, this is also possible.

Here are some of the activities.

  • Using Course Search
  • Completing the registration process
  • Completing an online application
  • Setting up staff to oversee the application process (applicable to UCAS only)
  • Attaching references
  • Sending completed applications
  • Tracking the progress of applications
  • General good practice and recommendations for implementing at your centre

We are continuing to offer UCAS Apply training at our regional centres. These Approved Centre Events follow a set programme. We can also come to you through our Bespoke Training programme.

Who should attend?

The various training modules we offer are aimed at those advising students applying through UCAS, GTTR and CUKAS, and also those administering the system (UCAS applications only). Delegates may include heads of sixth form and post-16 education colleges, representatives from careers and guidance organisations, teachers, lecturers, administration staff and higher education advisers.

Bespoke training

This would be delivered at your own venue where delegates might be from your own centre or you could share the training with others in your area. You would compile your own training session from the modules listed below, choosing to have a 'demonstration only' or to take advantage of a safe environment and have a go yourself by opting for a hands-on, 'fully-interactive' session.

  • UCAS Apply (Student area)
  • UCAS Apply (Staff area)
  • GTTR Apply
  • CUKAS Apply

The maximum number of delegates for an interactive session is 15. At least 4 weeks' notice is required for this type of event.
