Why Entry Profiles, why now?

UCAS is committed to supporting the work of the Delivery Partnership, which has recommended that all courses would benefit from having a full Entry Profile. Professional Development Officers are committed to working with HEIs to support their work towards the goal of the Delivery Partnership.

The Delivery Partnership was established in the autumn of 2006 to implement reforms to the higher education applications process following the Government's response in May 2006 to the DfES-led consultation on Improving the Higher Education Applications Process. These reforms will improve the HE applications system by enhancing the provision of information for applicants, universities and colleges in the interests of increasing transparency, efficiency and effectiveness.

The Delivery Partnership formed an Entry Profiles Working Group (EPWG) in February 2007, chaired by Janet Graham (Director, Supporting Professionalism in Admissions (SPA) Programme). The EPWG meets regularly to discuss Entry Profile development, and members of the group represent a wide range of perspectives. Current membership includes HEI representatives from Aberystwyth, Bristol, Cambridge, Coventry, Manchester, Northumbria and Westminster, together with representatives from a school and a Lifelong Learning Network (LLN).

Entry Profiles workshops are run at UCAS in Cheltenham. For more information, contact the Professional Development Team on 01242 545712 or professionaldevelopment@ucas.ac.uk.
