Collection of passport details in Track

If applicants live outside the UK (ie their permanent address is outside the UK) they may need a student visa to study in the UK. They will be required to apply to the United Kingdom Border Agency (UKBA) and will need to provide their passport details so that the university or college can advise the UKBA that they are holding a confirmed place at their institution.

We have developed an additional section in Track, in collaboration with the universities, colleges, and UKBA, that will ask applicants for their passport details once they have applied and have received an offer from one of their choices.

The passport details that we are collecting are:

  • passport number
  • issue date
  • expiry date
  • place of issue

and whether a student visa is required.

They will only be asked for passport details if the information they gave on their application suggests that they might need a visa to study in the UK.

For further details of the UK Border Agency please visit the UKBA website.
