For students, the journey to higher education can be long - starting with deciding what to do and then taking all of the necessary steps until they are actually doing it. It need not, however, be a struggle. For your son or daughter, this is a step towards independence, and a chance for them to make decisions about where they want to be in the future.

They will probably ask for your help at various times during the process, so the more you know, the more you can help at this important time. Your encouragement, guidance and support will be invaluable to them.

The options are constantly changing. In the last few years, more and more courses and institutions have been introduced to our system, giving your son or daughter a wider variety of subjects and places to study.
