UCAS Card is changing

UCAS Card logo The UCAS Card site is being redesigned and will be ready to use in November 2008. It will be full of new features to help year 12, S5 or equivalent students get ready for higher education life and it will also have a new name: yougofurther.co.uk.

'yougo', as it is more commonly known, is a student community site brought to you by UCAS. From November, it will have an area dedicated to year 12, S5 or equivalent students who will be able to take advantage of far more benefits than before. Students can create profile pages and take part in the student-only community areas, such as forums. These areas let them chat and interact with others who are also applying to college or university.

What students will get by joining yougo

  • Access to the yougo community.
  • A discount card to cut the cost of shopping at many high street outlets.
  • Regular web chats with experts, including UCAS, universities and colleges; as well as friends of yougo, such as Lonely Planet, TARGET Jobs and the Rugby Football Union (RFU).
  • All the essential information about higher education courses and places of study.
  • Online UCAS advisers to help applicants with the application process.
  • Regular newsletters with news and advice at key stages of the application process.
  • Access to institution profile pages: 'talk' to the colleges and universities online.
  • Three copies of The Independent's 'You Can' magazine, the essential guide to higher education, delivered to their UK address.

The best thing about yougo is that it is free to join. It can help students get the most out of the UCAS application process, and remember - it's exclusively for students.
