Is your son or daughter not sure which course to study?
If your son or daughter hasn't yet decided what to study, there are some useful tools that can help them to come to a decision.
They can find subjects to suit their interests using the Stamford Test and research courses using Course Search, which lists every course available at each university and college in the UCAS scheme.
Many of the courses listed in Course Search will have an entry profile, which provides details about the course, about the university or college offering the course, and about the information they need concerning the university's or college's entry requirements, selection criteria and admissions policy. Some entry profiles also provide information about the skills, experience or personal qualities admissions tutors are looking for in their applicants.
How to find entry profiles using Course Search
- When your son or daughter finds courses which interest them (by searching for a particular subject, or for courses at a particular university), they should look for the
symbol after the course title on the results page. If the symbol is present, it means that the course has a full entry profile. - Courses without the symbol have details about qualifications, but no information about the course itself.
- When your son or daughter clicks on the course title they will go to the main course information page. They will find the entry profile link below the information required to complete the application. This link will take them to the profile for that course.
