Due to some technical difficulties experienced with UCAS Apply and the possible delays caused by postal strikes, the closing date for medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine/science, Oxford University and University of Cambridge has been extended to 16 October 2007.
Please note that the extended deadline applies only to the UCAS application and not to any other application materials requested by universities and colleges.
If your son or daughter is applying for any of the above courses or universities, please remind them that their application must be received at UCAS by this deadline. If their school, college or centre will be providing their reference online, please ensure that they allow enough time for their referee to check their application and attach the reference before they send it to us.
If your son or daughter is applying as an individual, please ensure that they allow enough time to check their application and attach the reference before sending it to us.
An application for any of the above courses/institutions received after this date (but by 30 June 2008) will still be sent to the chosen universities and colleges, but the institutions are not obliged to consider it.
It is important that they check their application thoroughly before sending it to their referee or to UCAS.
If your son or daughter is applying to Oxford University or University of Cambridge, they must fill in a separate paper application form from that university as well as the UCAS application. They can get this from their school or college or from the relevant university.
If applying for either Oxford or Cambridge, we advise that your son or daughter checks the relevant university's website to find out how the postal strike affects receipt of their application form.
