The Qualifications Information Review consultation has now closed

The deadline for submission of consultation responses was Monday 16 April 2012 and the online response form is now closed.

What was the consultation about?

Information about qualifications is an important factor in admissions to HE. The consultation represents a comprehensive review of the qualifications information needs of higher education institutions (HEIs), schools, colleges, advisers and applicants to higher education (HE).

The recommendations made in the consultation were informed by feedback from across the HE sector about the types of information needed about qualifications. Together these recommendations represent an exciting new shared UCAS qualification information service for HE, students and their advisers and other stakeholders, with the aim of supporting fairness, transparency and efficiency in HE admissions. The QI Review consultation asked all stakeholders for their views on whether the proposals meet these aims and how they would be affected if they are implemented.

What happens next?

The consultation on the recommendations for a proposed new system of qualification information was launched on 9 February 2012 and closed on 16 April 2012.

Following the close of the consultation, all responses are being analysed fully and will form the basis of final recommendations for a new system of qualifications information. The final recommendations will be submitted to the UCAS Board in June.

The findings from the consultation will be published in July 2012 and will be available to view on the QI Review pages of the UCAS website.
