Data Protection
When you complete your application online, we ask you to read and agree to the declaration displayed on Apply. When you agree to the declaration, you agree that we and the universities and colleges can process your information and keep a copy of your application to collect statistics and detect and prevent fraud.
The Data Protection Act 1998 allows you to ask us for a copy of all the information we have about your application. We charge £10 for this service to cover administrative costs. If you would like a copy of your information, please write to us giving your full name, address, personal ID and application number, and send us a cheque or postal order for £10, payable to UCAS. Applications are kept at UCAS for 3 years.

If you wish to pay by credit or debit card, phone our Customer Service Unit on +44 (0)871 468 0 468. You must have your application number and personal ID to hand and be able to correctly answer some security questions.

Nominated access
If you are likely to be away at any time during the application period, for example on a gap year, you may wish to appoint someone to act for you, with whom UCAS can discuss your application if necessary and who can make decisions on your behalf in your absence.
On your application, we ask you to enter this person's name and their relationship to you. Parents, other relatives and guardians would be obvious choices. Please note that universities and colleges have their own policies for discussing applications.
