Over 100 universities and colleges back Diplomas on UCAS website

21 May 2008

UCAS has today announced that the number of universities and colleges providing supporting statements for the recently launched Advanced Diplomas on ucas.com has passed the 100 mark.

Anthony McClaran UCAS Chief Executive said: "It is very encouraging that a wide cross section of universities and colleges have positively indicated that they view the Advanced Diplomas as a suitable entry route into higher education.

"These statements go a long way to placing the Advanced Diplomas firmly in the spectrum of qualifications that universities consider provide students with the breadth of skills and knowledge that they will need to be successful at the HE level.

"Good decision-making by students and their advisers depends initially on good, clear information about likely entry requirements".

UCAS has asked universities and colleges to provide information on their view of the Advanced Diploma so that future students are fully informed about which universities and colleges will accept the qualification.

The statements are published at: www.ucas.com/students/beforeyouapply/diplomas/14-19diplomas/statements. UCAS is also beginning to build the Advanced Diploma information into the Entry Profiles within the UCAS Course Search.
