Planned maintenance: 17 – 19 November

We are carrying out planned maintenance on Friday 17 November until Sunday 19 November.

This means at times, you may become disconnected from Apply for advisers.

Please do not make any changes to applications during the following times:

  • 07:30 – 08:00 on Friday 17 November
  • 07:30 – 08:00 on Saturday 18 November
  • 14:00 – 15:00 on Saturday 18 November

Please be aware that UCAS Undergraduate Apply may also become disconnected – we’re advising applicants to avoid making changes to their applications at the times listed above.

UCAS Undergraduate Track will also be unavailable between 09:00 – 11:00 on Saturday 18 November.

We send your students letters and emails at different stages of the undergraduate application process.

Welcome email AS2 – sent when an application is submitted to UCAS.

Changed choices email AS2A – sent when a new choice is added or substituted over an existing choice.

Offer letter AS3 – sent when a university or college makes an offer.

Invitation letter (AS3A) (170.31 KB) – sent when a university or college sends an invitation to interview, audition, or to submit a piece of work or art portfolio.

Unsuccessful letter AS4 – sent when a university or college choice has been unsuccessful.

Withdrawn (by applicant) email AS5  – sent when an applicant withdraws their whole UCAS application.

Withdrawn (by provider) email AS5A – sent when either an applicant or university or college advises UCAS that the applicant no longer wants to take up the place.     

Replying to offers AS6 – sent when an applicant has received decisions from all their choices, and received at least one offer. It asks them to reply to offers by a given date.

Status check letter AS9 – sent to confirm we've recorded their replies correctly.

Status check decline AS9D – sent when an applicant's offers have been declined.

Confirmation letter AS12 – sent if they firmly accept an unconditional offer, or when a conditional place is confirmed by a course provider after exam results come out.

Confirmation letter AS12B – sent if they firmly accept an unconditional offer, or when a conditional place is confirmed by a course provider after exam results come out. Applicant needs to confirm with the course provider whether or not they intend to take up the place.

Confirmation change letter (AS12C) (161.65 KB) – sent if the university or college cannot confirm the place, but wants to offer a place on a different course.

Confirmation letter AS12N – sent if they firmly accept an unconditional offer, or when a conditional place is confirmed by a course provider after exam results come out. Applicant needs to confirm with the course provider if they do not intend to take up the place.

New options letter AS13 – sent to describe the other options available if they don't get a place confirmed.

Change of address email AP20 – sent when an applicant changes their address in Track.

Two places accepted letter AP40 – sent when an applicant has a confirmed place in more than one application scheme.
