Qualifications in the UK are currently undergoing significant reform, for example:
- reforms to GCSEs and A levels will result in structurally different qualifications with the same name in different parts of the UK
- the flexibility offered by the Curriculum for Excellence in Scotland and the de-coupling of the AS from the A level in England means that secondary schools and colleges are likely to offer increasingly diverse programmes
- reforms to vocational qualifications in England, driven by school performance tables
- the introduction of fully reformed regional Welsh Baccalaureate Skills Challenge Certificate
