 Adviser Track

Before an applicant sends their application to you, we ask them if they’re happy for you to view their application after it has been submitted to us.

If they agree, you can then use Adviser Track to follow their progress once you have sent their application to UCAS.

Adviser Track keeps you up-to-date with your students’ applications so you can give them appropriate advice. Accessed through Apply for advisers, and available each year from November, hundreds of teachers use the tool throughout the year, especially in the lead up to results day.

  • When you’re subscribed to Adviser Track, you can access it through Apply for advisers.
  • You can track the offers your students receive from universities and colleges, using the ‘Search for applicants’ feature which is refreshed daily.

  • You can view any offer conditions your students need to meet.
  • You can then see the replies your students make to any offers they receive.

As part of your Adviser Track subscription you'll also receive Applicant Status Reports (ASRs) and Final Destination Reports (FDRs).

  • Applicant Status Reports (ASRs) are updated every Wednesday and Saturday and give a snapshot of your students’ applications to date. Don’t forget you can access a daily update through the ‘Search for apps’ feature in Adviser Track.
  • Final Destination Reports replace ASRs towards the end of the cycle (September and October), due to the high number of changes of applicant destinations at this time.
  • Applicant Status Reports macro: you can use this Excel file (.xls) to reformat, filter and sort your weekly report in Adviser Track:
  • Your weekly reports will contain reference to institutional codes (e.g. BMET) and campus codes. The  list of institution and campus codes (268 KB) will help you identify the institution and the campus. In your weekly reports, you will also see the course name identified. You can find out which courses are in which subject groups at the Higher Education Statistics AgencyThese are known as JACS codes. The classification codes owned jointly by UCAS and HESA are only ever in the format of letter, number, number, number. The students would never see these.
