The Senior Insight Consultant will be responsible for helping to deliver on the mission to embed data‐led thinking in the HE sector, through the Insight Strategy for UCAS Media.

About the Media department

UCAS Media provides effective marketing opportunities to education providers, commercial organisations, and graduate recruiters. We create commercial partnerships and added value services for students, which support all progression in education.

The department is divided into three primary functions:

  • Education Team – specialist sales include our events portfolio and our data products, Application and Decision Tracker, and schools reporting.
  • Commercial Team – we work with a range of brands, organisations, and their media agencies. Specialist sales include course data and a digital student status checking service for banks and retail clients.
  • Careers Team – we primarily work with the larger, blue chip employers, generating revenue for UCAS by selling recruitment and attraction solutions.

About the role

Key responsibilities:

  • Have a comprehensive understanding of UCAS Media’s data to provide products and services, to enable customers to achieve their acquisition, strategy, or operational needs.
  • For existing Insight products, to define and evolve the strategy for growing the sales business from new and existing accounts, ensuring it is aligned with the wider UCAS Media strategy.
  • Drive data‐driven and insightful customer conversations and, ultimately, solutions.
  • Demonstrate credibility and thought leadership in the market, identifying gaps in customer knowledge to enable more informed decision-making.
  • Lead the enablement of our clients across admissions, academic, marketing, and leadership to better understand and interpret the data, to make richer operational and strategic decisions.
  • Lead on market insights to ensure we are approaching the right sector; customer segment, and decision-maker.
  • Seek out opportunities to promote and educate internal and external audiences about UCAS Media to actively manage the stakeholder map.
  • Prospect and introduce new clients to UCAS and the marketing and recruitment solutions we provide, both over the phone and face‐to‐face.
  • Lead internal projects, developing innovative ideas ensuring they align to business goals, and driving forward deliverables.
  • Use digital technology to deliver consulting effectively with more remote or smaller clients.
  • Work across the UCAS Media Sales Team to facilitate account managers to understand and, ultimately, sell our insight services and relationship manage the client.
  • Connect across our Analysis and Research, Operations, Marketing, and Strategic Product Management teams, supporting departments to lead product developments.
  • Manage key stakeholders throughout the process.
