The event is led by Claire Thomson, our Course Leader for Built Environment, whose own background is in Civil Engineering. Claire is joined by our partners in the course, CECA Scotland Academy and local employers who are keen to recruit into this field.

About the course
Specially designed to gain key site skills in the industry, our NPA Construction Operations with CECA Scotland Academy course gives you a route to help shape the country and its infrastructure as a Civil Engineering Operative.
This is a hands-on role developing both practical skills in areas such as laying kerbs and drains, excavation works and concreting, and site skills such as health and safety and setting out. This is an expanding area of the local economy and CECA members have guaranteed a 75% minimum employment directly from the course.
With 3 days a week learning in college, and 2 days on-site working with a relevant employer, you get the best of both worlds: a valuable qualification and practical experience while getting paid.
Entry requirements: One pass at national 4, or relevant work placement taster in the industry.
