Course summary

This course is Distance Learning with limited contact days at the college's Main Campus

This HNC programme enables a multidisciplinary study of sport and exercise science at a higher level, where you will have the opportunity to study all major disciplines of sports science, as well as an introduction to research and laboratory skills. you will gain a scientific understanding of the core principles involved in supporting a range of sporting performances.

Learning will be largely online with 5-7 contact days per year, where you will be required to visit Lough borough College. During these contact days, you will be able to put theory into practice, by utilising our sports science laboratories and practical facilities, whilst also befitting from face-to-face delivery and support.

Modules

Year 1 modules -Nutrition, Fundamentals of Sport & Exercise Psychology, Anatomy & Physiology, Professional Skill, Training Fitness and Testing, Coaching Practice & Skill Development, Community Coaching and Injury Prevention.

Assessment method

Assessments include a range of exams, essays, projects, presentations and reports. Such diversity allows you to experience and refine various academic and professional skills to prepare for your next steps.
