Our Events and International Festivals Management Diploma of Higher Education (DipHE) offers an engaging blend of academic and practical experience, designed to help you build core skills and knowledge for a successful career in the events industry.
This two-year program focuses on essential elements of event management, with courses covering Festivals, Sports Events, Conferences, Weddings, and more. Through this curriculum, you’ll develop a solid understanding of event operations and gain insights into how to work creatively and effectively in a variety of event contexts.
You will explore key topics such as event impacts and legacies, stakeholder engagement, event scoping and planning, funding, and marketing. These courses provide the foundational skills needed to manage events with confidence and to navigate the global events industry. The program also covers sustainability issues in events, equipping you to incorporate responsible practices in your work.
The course is assessed entirely through coursework, with a focus on hands-on and industry-based assignments. You’ll gain practical experience in areas like event planning and production, event marketing, project management, and safety and licensing regulations, preparing you to apply your skills directly in the field.
By the end of this diploma program, you’ll be ready to enter the event management industry with a solid foundation in event finance, community engagement, and the essential skills to support local and international events. The programme will be assessed through a structured mix of practical assessments, events, placements, case studies, audits, training exercises, management reports, presentations, essays, event reviews, DVD/videos, vlogs/ blogs, feasibility studies, projects, bid pitches and the opportunity to plan, organise and assess event tours and experiences.
Assessments will wherever possible be designed to develop professional skills as well as developing critical thinking, leadership, events management, guest service and teamwork in preparation for careers in the events . There will be NO examinations on this course.
To work as a teacher at a state school in England or Wales, you will need to achieve qualified teacher status (QTS). This is offered on this course for the following level:
