Develop into a compassionate, knowledgeable, competent and confident graduate nurse capable of delivering and leading high-quality, person-centred care in a wide variety of healthcare settings
50% of the course is spent in practice placements to gain practical nursing experience in diverse locations like hospitals, community homes, private clinics and community nursing teams
Developed in conjunction with practice partners, service users and carers, on this course you’ll learn from experienced registered nurses and other healthcare practitioners
Purpose built skills facilities include simulated hospital wards and community home settings, allowing you to learn and practice various nursing procedures safely
Our annual Careers Fair has numerous healthcare exhibitors in attendance, helping you to gain employment as a registered nurse on completion of the course.
As well as acquiring knowledge from highly qualified and experienced lecturers and practitioners, you’ll focus throughout the course developing the core skills required to become a competent registered nurse in a rapidly changing and evolving health care setting. Our interactive learning facilities provide access to a full range of learning materials through our virtual learning environment which complements lectures and seminars as you develop your knowledge in key areas of nursing practice from Pathophysiology and medicines management to nursing assessment, communication skills and interprofessional working. Our simulation suites replicate a range of clinical and community environments and allow you to learn practical techniques in a safe and controlled setting.
For any nursing programme, placements are central to your learning where under the supervision of a practice supervisor (who will be a registered health professional) there is the opportunity to learn from practice and to implement your theoretical learning in practice.
