You’ll build a strong foundation in construction and project management, exploring the roles of industry professionals and the full building life cycle. Year 2
You’ll build on your first-year knowledge and focus on project management in greater depth. Optional Placement Year
You can choose a salaried professional placement after year two, gaining hands-on experience with construction firms, project management consultancies or major contractors. This year allows you to apply your academic knowledge to real-world projects such as planning, scheduling, cost control and managing health and safety on site.

You’ll develop practical skills in project coordination, contract administration and client communication, while building valuable industry contacts. The placement enhances your employability and confidence, giving you a competitive edge for careers in construction project management and related fields.

Final year
You’ll complete an independent research project and develop advanced expertise in project planning, construction management and sustainable building practices. Core modules focus on managing complex projects, balancing time, cost and performance, while option modules enable you to specialise in areas such as risk analysis or building adaptation to match your career goals.
