Course summary

If you hold an honours degree in another discipline, attain LLB status in two years. Pursue a career as a Solicitor via this fast track LLB route. Study the legal system of Scotland, as well as private, public, criminal and commercial law.

Our two-year fast track LLB is available to those who already hold an honours degree in another discipline. The course provides a fundamental knowledge and understanding of the principal features of the legal system and law of Scotland.

The main aim of the course, which is accredited by the Law Society of Scotland, is to provide you with knowledge and understanding of the legal system and law of Scotland. You will benefit from small classes, excellent access to staff support and the opportunity to gain hands-on experience through our GCU Law Clinic while helping the local community.

Many graduates go on to take the Diploma in Professional Legal Practice (PEAT1), which is the next stage for those who wish to qualify as a Solicitor.

GCU Law Clinic

LLB students are provided with the opportunity to enhance their professional practice skills through the award-winning Glasgow Caledonian University Law Clinic. The GCU Law Clinic enables LLB students to provide advice on civil law matters under the supervision of qualified and practising solicitors. Specialising in housing, employment, contract and sports law, the GCU Law Clinic is open to all LLB students who wish to volunteer.

Your career
