Course summary

This course is for individuals wishing to develop higher-level professional skills relevant to the electrical and electronic engineering sectors.

The programme team uses a combination of traditional classroom teaching, open learning and research-based experiential learning, laboratory experiments, demonstrations and practical sessions, using industry standard IT applications and group activities.

The course comprises core and specialist units, which are all mandatory. These units are:

5006: Further Mathematics
5009: Further PLCs
5011: Industrial Power, Electronics and Storage
5013: Embedded Systems
5010: Further Electrical Machines and Drives
5019: Further Electrical, Electronic and Digital Principles
5020: Utilisation of Electrical Power
5002: Professional Engineering Management

This course is taught one day a week, normally over 30 weeks per academic year. The course duration is expected to be 18 months.

For International students we require evidence of proficiency in English (including writing, speaking, listening and reading), the required minimum is: Academic IELTS (SELT) 6.0 overall (minimum 5.5 in all components).
