About us

Central Film School is a film school based in South West London, running undergraduate and postgraduate programmes as well as a portfolio of non-accredited courses. Our mission is to give independent voices the skills and knowledge needed to tell their stories through film.

Want to know what your films could look like?

Here is an example of a short film 'Liam', created by our BA (Hons) Practical Filmmaking students.

What makes us different

Our 'practical-first' approach, allows us to train filmmakers, screenwriters and actors to work in the industry as soon as they graduate, both in the UK and internationally.

All of our undergraduate degrees are two - year accelerated degrees: The two-year structure allows students to gain an equivalent degree to one achieved in three years elsewhere. This is made possible by our restructuring of the academic year to provide an additional term each summer. You will have the same number of teaching weeks as on a conventional three-year programme, but your work-load in any term is no greater. It also means that all students can complete an undergraduate degree at Central Film School and an MA, in a total of three years.

I'd always had an interest in different types of art but decided to go into film. Central Film School stood out to me, I've met some amazing people and it was the perfect place to get my base understanding on filmmaking.
