I don’t know my username and password. What can I do?

If your school or local authority is using UCAS Progress they will issue you with a username and password. Please contact your teacher or adviser. If your school or local authority is not using UCAS Progress you can self-register. To find out how to do this watch our video guide on self-registration


My school is not using UCAS Progress, but I want to apply, what should I do?

If you have checked with your teacher and they are not using UCAS Progress, you can self-register an account.


I have forgotten my password. What can I do?

If you have registered an email address on your account, please use the forgotten password page this will send you an email enabling you to reset your password. If you have not yet set up an email address with your account, your teacher or adviser can reset it for you.


How do I change my username?

If you wish to change your username you can do so by signing in and going to the Account tab where you can choose a new username. You can also change your password.


My date of birth/name is wrong, can I change it?

If you have self-registered you should be able to do this yourself. If your school or local authority has registered you then your school will have to change details like this for you. Contact your teacher or adviser if you need anything amending.


How do I apply?

Once your profile is complete and you have courses in your favourites. Click the applications tab and then the blue Start a new application button.


Why can’t I add my qualifications?

If you cannot add anything to the qualifications section of your profile your school will be adding these for you. You can submit your application and once the school has added your qualifications, your application will be received by the provider you are applying to.


Why can’t I add my reference?

If the provider you have applied to requires a reference, your school will be alerted that they need to add a reference to your application.


How many applications can I make?

You can make one application to each provider, so you will need to add as many courses as you want to apply to. However there is no limit to how many providers you wish to make applications to.


How many courses can I apply to?

You can add as many choices as you want to an application. If you are undecided whether you want to do, for example, four A levels or an apprenticeship, add all of your desired courses to same application and this can then be discussed with the provider at a later date. 


My application says 'awaiting profile completion'. What does this mean?

This means that your provider needs to add your qualifications or approve your profile. Your application will be sent to the receiving provider when these things are complete. If you are concerned, please contact your tutor or Adviser.


I can’t find a course/provider in my area, why aren’t they on here?

They may not be accepting applications on UCAS Progress. We recommend contacting the provider directly to find out how to apply.


Why is the provider I want to apply to greyed out in the 'start a new application' section?

This means that the provider is not accepting applications through UCAS Progress. Please contact them directly to find out how to apply.


How do I know when someone updates my application?

Make sure your email address is correct as we will email you when your application is updated or a provider sends you a message though the system. The email will ask you to sign in and look at your application.


I have changed my mind/made a mistake on my application. Can I update it?

You cannot edit your application once it has been submitted. However if you want to change your courses or update your profile you can withdraw the application and send another one, or send the provider a message on your application page detailing the changes you would like to make. Check with the provider before doing this to make sure they are still accepting applications.
