Summary

Liberal Arts is one of the oldest forms of education. The past ten years has seen a growth of interest in the liberal arts in Europe, and subsequently in the UK.

During this session you’ll hear from liberal arts experts at different universities who use a variety of methods and approaches in their teaching. You will dive deep into what it means to embed interdisciplinarity in teaching and learning through critical thinking, problem-solving and advanced undergraduate research methodologies. By the end of the session, you will have a good understanding of different Liberal Arts programmes in the UK and how different institutions teach it. You will be able to advise your students about what it means to study the Liberal Arts and the value of a Liberal Arts degree.
