Summary

Since the International Admissions Review (IAR) was published in autumn 2014, work on implementation of its recommendations has been integrated into wider development work at UCAS, and monitored through the International Advisory Group. This session offers an update on the IAR, and serves as a starting point for a discussion with delegates about the key issues for 2018 and onwards, relating to international admissions to UK higher education. Delegates registering for this break out will have the opportunity to put forward questions or nominate issues for discussion in advance of the session.

Learning outcomes:

  • Receive an update on UCAS’ progress in responding to and implementing recommendations from the International Admissions Review.
  • Develop a deeper understanding of challenges and issues in international admissions, including: working with agents; barriers to working with UCAS and bypassing of the UCAS system, and whether providers are getting the right information through UCAS from international applicants.
  • Opportunities to discuss and share experiences relating to international admissions issues with other admissions practitioners from across the sector.
