Alternative payment option and accepted cards

If you are unable to make online payment of the UCAS application fee, we can accept payment by bank transfer instead.

The UCAS application fee payment can be made by:

  • cards
  • through a school, college, or centre you are linked with
  • or by a bank transfer

 

The UCAS Conservatoire fee payment and assessment fees* can be made by:

  • cards
  • or by a bank transfer

 

Cards

We accept the following credit and debit cards for payment:

  • VIA
  • Mastercard
  • Electron
  • JCB

 

Bank transfer

If you are unable to make online payment of the UCAS application fee, which is required at the point of 'Review and Submit' of your application, we can accept payment by bank transfer instead. 

Once you have completed all sections of your application (including your referee completing their reference, if required) and have the option to click Review and Submit, you will need to transfer your application fee to us. All payments must be in GB pounds sterling.

Once you have made the bank transfer, please follow the link to complete our alternative payment web form, where you will need to provide some details of the bank transfer. This will enable us to link the payment to your application.

Once your application fee has been successfully attached, you will need to sign into your application to complete the Review and Submit process – you will not be asked to make payment again.

If completing this process within two weeks of the equal consideration deadline^ for your courses, you must contact us to guarantee your application is set before the deadline to allow you to submit on time. You won’t be able to send your application until we’ve updated your payment status.

 

Fee waivers

Free school meals application fee waiver: If you have been in receipt of UK government funded free school meals at some point during the last six years (during your secondary education) up until the end of your final year, you will be eligible to have your application fee waived. Find out more.

Care leaver application fee waiver: If you are a care leaver, you may be eligible to submit the application for free using the care leaver fee waiver. You need to upload supporting information to be eligible. You will receive an email with more information about how to contact UCAS to apply the fee waiver. Find out more.
