Known as “The Kitchen Chemist”, one of Dr Ashworth’s areas of interest is science communication. In 2018, he was awarded an Inspirational Member Award, by the Royal Society of Chemistry, for his Kitchen Chemistry outreach work, which has included working with schools in South Africa as part of Scifest Africa, Malaysia, and New Zealand.
