Lily Bissell

Academic Skills Officer (Pre-entry), University of Southampton

Lily co-delivers the Learn with US Transition Programme at the University of Southampton, where she runs interactive workshops and taster sessions to help sixth form students develop academic and research skills - particularly those undertaking the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ). She also delivers tailored one-to-one support and campus library visits, providing personalised guidance to help students succeed in their independent research.

Before joining the University of Southampton, Lily qualified as a teacher in 2022 and spent three years teaching Year 6 students with diverse learning needs, supporting their transition to secondary school. Lily holds a degree in Geography and French from the University of Exeter, which included a year abroad at the University of Bordeaux. Her undergraduate research explored the intercultural experiences of students studying overseas.
