Alice Batts is a Key Account Manager at the Engineering Development Trust (EDT), a national education charity working with employers, educators and young people to strengthen pathways into STEM careers. Her role focuses on building long-term, strategic partnerships with industry that translate employer insight into high-quality, progression-focused opportunities for young people.
A core part of Alice’s work sits within Industrial Cadets, the UK’s national benchmark for work readiness, founded with the support of and patronage of HM King Charles III. Co-designed with employers, Industrial Cadets provides a nationally recognised framework that accredits meaningful employer engagement and work-related learning, helping young people to develop essential employability skills, workplace behaviours, confidence and resilience alongside technical STEM understanding.
Alice brings significant regional and delivery expertise to her national role. She previously spent over four years as Delivery and Development Lead for EDT’s North Region, where she led the successful delivery of employer-led STEM programmes aligned to local labour market needs. During this time, she worked closely with industry partners to ensure activity delivered measurable impact for young people while meeting business objectives around skills, talent pipelines and social value.
With a strong understanding of both employer priorities and young people’s needs, Alice is committed to creating inclusive, high-quality STEM pathways that support progression into further study, apprenticeships and employment, particularly for those who might not otherwise access these opportunities.
