Education Coordinator Deputy Director of Admissions, School of Medicine, University of Liverpool
Robert Skaife, is the Director of Admissions and Education Coordinator at the University of Liverpool’s School of Medicine. A lifelong Liverpudlian, I bring a broad background across clinical (nursing) practice, primary education, and TESOL to leadership in medical education.
I have worked at the School of Medicine for 21 years, beginning as Staff Development Officer before progressing into senior roles in educational development and admissions. I hold a Postgraduate Certificate and a Master’s in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education, am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, and am a trained Peer Observer of teaching. My work centres on developing excellent teaching practice and preparing students for the evolving realities of modern medicine.
Since joining the Medicine Admissions team in 2014, I have focused on recruiting outstanding students while championing widening participation to help ensure the school’s community reflects the diversity of the population it serves.
Outside of work, I enjoy hiking in the Peak District and North Yorkshire with my partner and our dog, running to stay healthy, and reading fiction.
