Dr. Fahd Asif is a higher education professional with over sixteen years’ experience in student recruitment, admissions and partnership development across several UK universities and a UK economic development agency. A former international student, he now brings an academic perspective to student experiences through research examining the multiple and multi-dimensional transitions that students and their families navigate before, during and after higher education.

His doctoral research at the University of Dundee explores how significant others shape students’ mobility decisions, experiences and identities, and how these influences shape educational choices and transition experiences across social, cultural and professional domains. Combining research, professional practice and lived experience, he connects empirical evidence with practical insights relevant to researchers, advisers and students.
