Emily is an academic from The University of Manchester; she joined the institution as an undergraduate Chemical Engineering student and subsequently completed a PhD in Chemical Engineering. Prior to her current academic role, Emily has worked in the university accommodation welfare team (ResLife) and in the Access and Success team. In this latter role, she led on STEM outreach work and co-led on work supporting care experienced young people.

She has held admissions academic leadership roles for the Department of Chemical Engineering, and for the Faculty of Science and Engineering. Within these roles she has overseen recruitment and selection processes across a range of PGT and UG programmes. Emily has a keen interest in consistent and fair recruitment, as well as widening participation to STEM subjects.
