Elaine’s position at Qualifications Wales sees her working closely with the higher and further education sectors, as well as work-based learning across Wales.

Before joining Qualifications Wales, Elaine advanced from being a Subject Officer to Assistant Director at WJEC, ultimately serving as Director of Qualifications, Assessment, and Responsible Officer, where she managed qualification design, assessment development, and examination delivery.

Originally from Ireland, Elaine is an award-winning teacher who has taught music and performing arts in both Wales and Ireland and has held strategic roles related to assessment and reporting.

Elaine actively collaborates with higher education institutions throughout the UK to ensure the university admissions process is straightforward for learners in Wales keeping institutions informed about updates to Qualifications Wales’s regulated qualifications and the qualifications system in Wales.
