INTRODUCTION

Welcome to BA (Hons) Esports Coaching & Management (with Foundation Year) at the University Campus of Esports (formerly College of Esports). The course is designed for aspiring professionals looking to work in competitive gaming. The program is designed with industry in mind and therefore blends principles of coaching and leadership with business management to equip you with both academic and industry skills necessary to be successful in a rapidly changing environment. Teaching modules are bolstered by the unique UCES TRI-Curriculum approach, which enhances your social capital through the development of your talent, resilience, and identity in preparation for the exciting and international world of Esports.

The Foundation Year/Level 3 provides a strong academic and practical base, ensuring you are fully prepared to thrive in your undergraduate degree. Whether you are transitioning from a different field, returning to education, or looking to enhance your skills, the Foundation Year offers structured support in academic writing, research, and interpersonal skills. You will develop essential problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills that are vital for success in higher education and your future professional career.

From Year 1/Level 4 onwards, you will develop expertise in areas such as leadership, player development and psychology, high-performance, and movement science, as well as traditional business competencies such as esports regulation, managing online communities, and navigating international esports operations.

With access to industry-standard facilities, guest lectures from esports professionals, and opportunities for hands-on experience in real-world competitive environments, both in-house and externally, this program offers a comprehensive foundation for careers in esports. Whether you aspire to coach players, manage teams, or develop business skills through competitive esports, this degree equips you with the skills and knowledge necessary for success.

This program provides access to a broad spectrum of career opportunities in both esports and traditional sports, including roles such as coaching competitive teams and managing players and staff within an organisation. The integration of traditional business competencies with coaching and management expertise ensures you leave with an exit ticket into the competitive gaming industry, but also in the wider corporate business sector.

Additional fee information

For UK and Channel Islands students, this tuition fee is set in line with UK government policy and parliamentary regulation. If the UK government introduces the necessary legislation, the tuition fee for subsequent years of study may increase each academic year.
