Course overview
This one‑year Business Top‑up degree, accredited by the University of Chichester, is designed for students who have completed a Higher National Diploma (HND), Foundation Degree, or equivalent qualification and want to achieve a full BA (Hons) in Business. It is also suitable for mature students or those returning to higher education with relevant professional experience.
The programme equips you with a well‑rounded skill set, strong business acumen, and the ability to thrive in today’s fast‑changing business environment. You’ll apply theory to real‑world business scenarios, develop resilience, and build the professional skills employers are looking for.
Teaching and learning
Developed in collaboration with past graduates, the course uses a flexible blended learning approach, combining interactive lectures, online resources, independent research, and personalised 1:1 support. Classes are scheduled to complement work and other commitments, making it accessible for those balancing study with employment.

Modules
The Business Top-up Degree is run as a modular programme over 1 year, divided by terms. Students are required to complete and pass four compulsory and one optional units. The compulsory modules are; Business Research, Entrepreneurship and Intrapreneurship, Managing Operations, Strategic Management, Contemporary Human Resources.
The optional module choices include; Business Research, Management (optional), Global Economy, or Project Implementation.
Assessment method
The course uses a variety of assessment methods (report, professional discussion, presentation, portfolio and timed assessment) to ensure you graduate with well-rounded business skills and can apply theory in practice. Each module sets out the required assessment which usually consists of one to two assessment methods. The course is designed to be as flexible as possible to fit around your
work and personal commitments. Taught interactive sessions will mostly take place on Tuesday (6pm- 9pm) and Wednesday evenings
from 5pm-9pm. There are some flexibilities within the timetable to choose an option that is of most interest, or perhaps better fit your
other commitments. Term 2 and 3 are focused on work placement, or setting up your own business and independent research.
