Course summary

If you're already working in the Lifelong Learning sector and are ready to take your career to the next level, this course offers the perfect opportunity to deepen your expertise and broaden your professional impact.

This course is designed to deepen your intellectual engagement with key issues in the design, delivery, evaluation, and management of educational courses within the Lifelong Learning sector, whilst also strengthening the professional standing and critical understanding of individuals working in a variety of roles across the sector.

As a top-up to prior postgraduate qualifications, the course requires you to complete a 60-credit dissertation module, so previous experience and a solid understanding of educational research methods (such as a postgraduate-level research methods module) are essential.

Recent dissertation topics have included:

  • A case study on youth disaffection at an independent alternative school in North West England.

  • A critical evaluation of the effectiveness of Restorative Practice (RP) at a high school in a northern UK city.
