Ravensbourne University London’s four-year Product Design course, including an Integrated Foundation Year (IFY), nurtures your ability to think creatively, work experimentally and design solutions that respond to human needs. The IFY introduces you to essential design concepts and making processes, allowing you to explore materials, form, function and hybrid physical-digital experiences before specialising.

Throughout the course, you’ll build a strong foundation in research, sketching, model-making, 3D design, prototyping and testing. You’ll learn to generate ideas, refine concepts and bring products to life through hands-on experimentation and industry-focused project work.

Working alongside peers from other creative disciplines, you’ll gain the confidence to tackle real-world problems and design innovative objects, systems and services. Modules

This course will introduce you to the fundamental principles of 3D design and user centred information. This foundation year gives you the time, space and support to explore your creative identity, build confidence and prepare for the demands of studio-based, project-led learning.

• Module 2 Technical: Technical knowledge in practice
• Module 3 Specialist: Innovating specialist practice
• Module 4 Integration: Integrated practice for progression to Higher Education

Qualified teacher status (QTS)

To work as a teacher at a state school in England or Wales, you will need to achieve qualified teacher status (QTS). This is offered on this course for the following level:
