Bring your imagination to life with the art of costume design. This specialist degree equips you with the creative and technical skills needed for costume design and construction across stage and screen.
Course Information
You’ll explore character design, illustration, and period pattern cutting (both on the flat and on the stand), supported by sessions in the history of costume. You’ll also develop skills in tailoring, millinery, stretch fabrics for dance, and costume prop-making. Practical workshops in fabric manipulation, printing, dyeing, and costume supervision ensure you graduate with a well-rounded, industry-ready skill set. Collaboration is central to the course. You’ll work alongside actors, directors, make-up artists, and set designers on live and filmed performances, gaining real-world experience in professional environments.
