Course summary

This one year course will cover the latest construction methods and give you relevant practical and theoretical skills. You will work on the latest technology and software being used in the industry.

You will study in our state-of-the-art purpose-built Construction Centre and be taught by industry experts.

Modules

The course content includes:

Construction design projects (set by Pearson and based on live working projects).
The construction environment, considering all environmental factors with a focus on sustainability aspects.
Principles of off-site manufacture
The potential of Modern methods of construction to transform the industry.
Impact on cost control and the environment and address the housing shortages.
Building information modelling (BIM).
Digital applications for BIM and construction information.
Principles of alternative energy.
Tender and procurement.

Qualification requirements

You will require a Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Modern Methods of Construction
GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4/C or above
Prior experience of working in the Construction industry would be beneficial.
