Course summary
The BSc (Hons) Dental Hygiene (DH) programme aims for graduates to be ‘safe beginner’ clinicians, registerable with the General Dental Council. Training equips students clinical skills, professional delivery and self-motivation. This course will enable you to:

This programme delivered in partnership with Eastman Dental Hospital Education Centre presents with academic and clinical training pathways working with the general dental practices, local communities and vulnerable groups as part of our meeting the demands of society today and in the future. Our programme is designed to be a market driver in the delivery of dental health care service and supplying training and patient service with innovative ideas that foster our principles of – Teamwork, Safety, Kindness and Improving.

Year 2: Applied Clinical Dental in Dental Hygiene, Integrated Clinical Care and Social Accountability, Dental Radiography and Imaging, Personal & Professional Development 2. Year 3: Consolidated Clinical Practice in Dental Hygiene, Research and Dissertation, Personal & Professional Development 3. , Preparing for Practice, Exit to Registration.
All modules are core modules and must be successfully completed to be eligible for consideration for professional registration.

Merit in Science T Level
Applicants must hold 5 GCSEs A-C including Maths, English Language and Science or equivalent (reformed GCSEs grade 4 or above).
Applications are welcome from those with a nationally recognised dental nursing qualification, 2 years relevant dental experience (this must be post qualification) and Access M:45 (15 Biology) OR A level – BB (must include biology). Must include level 2 Maths and English which should be in place at the time of application.
