Course summary

The FdSc Computing is an exciting new course that focuses on the technical skills required for a career in each of the three pathways; data modelling, software development and cyber security. Alongside these technical skills, students enrolled on the course develop the necessary employability and social awareness skills needed to progress. By progressing through level 4 and 5 of the programme, the aim is to increase your subject knowledge within your chosen pathway alongside developing the supplementary employability skills required to succeed.

Assessment method

By the end of this programme learners will be able to:
• Develop a strong understanding of the role of an IT professional, demonstrating technical competence, commercial and social awareness.
• Apply the theoretical and practical knowledge of computing concepts in order to create, test and implement computational solutions to complex problems.
• Use innovation and creativity to meet societal, business and end user requirements.
• Have demonstratable ability and confidence to utilise transferable employability skills in a range of career opportunities.
