Course summary

What legal challenges do businesses face today? Our Law with Business LLB (with Foundation Year) is designed to help you build a strong legal foundation while developing valuable commercial awareness across two connected disciplines.

You’ll start with a foundation year in law, where you’ll strengthen your academic skills and begin exploring core legal techniques like statutory interpretation and case analysis.

From there, you’ll progress onto the Law with Business degree, gaining a deep understanding of the legal frameworks that shape the business world. You’ll study areas such as company law, commercial law, and key legal principles and values.

You’ll have plenty of opportunities to apply your learning through mooting, client interviewing, and even the chance to join our nationally recognised mooting team. You’ll also benefit from mentoring schemes and employability-focused events.

You’ll graduate ready for further professional training, such as the Bar course or preparation for the Solicitors’ Qualifying Exam.

Contextual admissions

Universities and colleges consider more than grades when assessing applications and may make offers based on a range of criteria. Learn more about contextual offers.

Oxford Brookes University aims to provide equitable access to students with the potential to succeed. To achieve this, we make a holistic assessment, considering qualifications and experience in the context of personal and educational background. We make offers based on the evidence we can see of the skills and abilities required for success and show flexibility in our confirmation of a place, where there is evidence to show that grades may not fully represent future potential.
