The purpose of the Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Hospitality Management is to develop you as a professional, self-reflecting individual, able to meet the demands of employers in Hospitality Management and adapt to a constantly changing world.

This HNC is also the first step towards your degree, which follows this pathway:

• Year 1: Higher National Certificate (HNC)
• Year 2: Higher National Certificate (HND)
• Year 3: BA (Top Up Degree)

What will I study?
You will develop a broad knowledge and awareness of key aspects of hospitality through five core units.

The units are:

  • The Contemporary Hospitality Industry

  • Managing the Customer Experience

  • Sustainable Hospitality Practice

  • The Hospitality Business Toolkit

  • Leadership and Management for Hospitality

You will also study three further optional units:

  • Managing Food and Beverage Operations

  • Managing Conference and Events

  • Marketing processes and planning
