Overview
Are you looking to build a career in social media management, digital content creation, or the global media industry? Do you hold an advanced diploma or equivalent qualification? If so, our BA Digital Media (Final Year Entry) programme could be the ideal course for you.
UEA was one of the UK’s pioneers in teaching film, television, and media studies. We’re based in Norwich, a city that is part of UNESCO's global Creative Cities network and often referred to as the “City of Stories.” We’ve played a key role in shaping the UK’s media industry—our alumni include the Chief Executive of Film London, as well as up-and-coming filmmakers, some of whom showcase their work at Norwich Film Festival, one of Europe's leading short film festivals.
Today, we’re at the cutting edge of digital storytelling, exploring how traditional forms are being transformed by new media. There’s no better place to study the practical art of creating film, video, and social media content. Half of the modules on this course immerse you in hands-on media production and content creation. Industry professionals will help nurture your creative talents. You’ll work in our outstanding BLOC media facilities, including a broadcast-standard TV studio. Our Media Suite, equipped with high-spec iMacs, supports your post-production work, while access to high-quality film cameras allows you to bring your creative visions to life. You’ll also be able to use these facilities outside of class time to develop personal projects or work on commissions from local clients.
You’ll gain key insights into the digital media landscape, including how to analyse audiences and create content that connects with them. You'll explore the impact of AI on media, and how algorithms and machine learning help deliver content to new users. A focus on global business culture prepares you to apply your media skills in the corporate world, if you choose to. You’ll also strengthen your communication and English skills through weekly two-hour language classes.
Upon graduation, you'll be ready for a range of roles across the global media and creative industries. You might become a digital content creator or apply your skills in brand strategy, PR, or marketing. Whatever path you choose, your versatile skill set will help you stand out in a competitive job market.
