In Year 1, you will typically study areas including: Theorising Gothic Texts; Discovering Literature; Reel Lives: Framing the Human Condition in European Film; Modern Languages - Introduction to Language Teaching; Computer Assisted Translation; Approaches to Gender in English Literature; Who Sings America? Literature and Culture of the United States.

In Year 2, you will typically study areas including: Capital(ising) Culture: Reimagining the city; Cinema in a World Context; Iberian Language (Catalan/Portuguese); Teaching Modern Foreign Languages to Young Learners 2; Community Interpreting; Debating Texts: Theory in Literature; Contentious Shakespeare.

In Year 3, you will typically study areas including: Dissertation; Welsh Gothic / Gothic Wales; Written in Blood: Reading the Vampire; Chaucer; Beyond Shakespeare; Further Fiction Writing; Creative Writing Personal Project.

We offer a variety of assessment methods within our programmes. In addition to traditional examinations and essays, examples of alternative assessment include:
