Course summary
The protection and enhancement of our natural environment sits at the heart of the sustainability agenda, and environmental engineers are key to this work.
Alongside developing core engineering knowledge and key skills in team working and project-based learning you will also apply your skillset to significant environmental challenges around issues such as contaminated land and water management in a unique programme that links decades of experience in mining and mineral extraction to the future challenges of sustainability and net-zero.
The location of this programme in the heart of Cornwall’s industrial heritage provides extensive opportunities for real-world case studies and field trips to gains first-hand experience of the challenges and how these can be addressed.

Applicants studying one of the following BTEC Extended Diplomas will be considered without a GCE AL science subject, GCE AL Maths is still required: Applied Science, Aeronautical Engineering, Building Services Engineering Construction and the Built Environment, Civil Engineering, Operations and Maintenance Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Sustainability.
Access to HE Diploma - D: 30 credits M: 15 credits
30 L3 Credits at Distinction Grade and 15 L3 credits at Merit Grade - 24 L3 Credits at Distinction Grade and 21 L3 credits at Merit Grade. 12 L3 Credits at Merit Grade in Mathematics and 12 L3 Credits at Merit Grade in an acceptable Science subject area.

International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme - 34 - 32 points
Applicants will be considered with IB 34-32 OR 665 or 655 in three Higher Level subjects. All applicants will be required to have HL5 Mathematics (Analysis and approaches or Applications and interpretations) and HL5 in another Science subject.
Applicants achieving IB Maths SL7 plus IB HL6 in Physics will also be considered.
English language requirements
GCSE English Language with a minimum pass of Grade C or 4.
