Course summary

In today’s connected world, businesses need people who understand global trade, cross‑cultural management and international strategy. This course with foundation year is the perfect starting point if you want extra support before beginning degree‑level study. You’ll build confidence in academic, business and digital skills, while exploring the basics of management and communication in a supportive environment.

Once you progress to the main programme, you’ll learn in an international setting that blends theory with real‑world practice. You’ll have the chance to study in Finland through our Dual Award partnership with TAMK, earning both a BAA and BSc. You’ll also work on placements and global projects, gaining hands‑on experience that prepares you for careers in multinational firms, export‑driven SMEs, NGOs and global trade.

Modules

Across four years, you’ll build a strong foundation in business, data and global contexts, while shaping your career pathway from the start. You’ll deepen your expertise in project management, trade, finance and logistics, applying your skills through live projects and industry collaborations.

In your final year, you’ll advance into strategy, leadership, innovation and sustainability, completing projects that showcase your abilities and prepare you for impactful graduate careers or postgraduate study.

/ Year 1: Understanding Organisations; Data Driven Decision Making; Essentials of Corporate Finance; Global Business and Sustainable Digital Futures; Principles of International Business; Developing your Career Foundations

/ Year 2: Project Management; Advanced Data Analytics; International Trade and Finance; Live Project for International Business; Developing Your Professional Identity; Cross‑Cultural Management; Optional 10‑credit module (or short work placement)

/ Year 3: The Professional Graduate; Sustainable Business Practice; Organisational Strategy and Leadership; International Business Strategy; Global Supply Chain Management; Integrated Learning Project (Dissertation/Consultancy/Entrepreneurial Simulation); Optional 10‑credit module

Assessment method

We use different assessment techniques in different modules and try to ensure all assessments reflect the types of work you will do after graduating. This may include group presentations, reports and research projects.

UCAS Tariff - 64 points

From a minimum of 1 A Level or equivalent.

A level

Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma (first teaching from September 2016) - MMP

Access to HE Diploma

A minimum of 64 UCAS Tariff Points from a QAA Approved Level 3 Access to HE Diploma to contain a minimum of 45 credits at Level 3 and 15 at Level 2 to total 60 credits overall for the full award.

Scottish Higher

64 points from a minimum of 1 Advanced Higher.

AS

64 From a minimum of 1 A Levels or equivalent. Additional AS Levels can be used towards the overall tariff points provided they are not completed in the same subject as the A Level.

Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Diploma (first teaching from September 2016) - DM

Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Foundation Diploma (first teaching from September 2016) - D

64 points required.

Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificate (first teaching from September 2016) - MMP

64 points. This is not a qualification that is acceptable on it's own as it is not a full A Level equivalent qualification but can be used in combination with a full A Level equivalent qualification to make up the required tariff points.

64 points From a minimum of 1 Advanced Higher.

International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme - 26 points

including a grade 5 in standard level maths and grade 6 in standard level english or grade 4 in higher level maths and grade 5 in higher level english

Welsh Baccalaureate - Advanced Skills Challenge Certificate (last awarded Summer 2024)

64 points. Not acceptable on it's own.

Extended Project

64 points. Not acceptable on it's own. Points must be gained from a minimum of 1 A Level or equivalent.

Leaving Certificate - Higher Level (Ireland) (first awarded in 2017)

64 points from a minimum of 1 Higher Level Subject including a minimum of H7 (D3)or O4 (C3) in Maths and English

Cambridge International Pre-U Certificate - Principal

64 points. Not acceptable on it's own. Points must be gained from a minimum of 1 A2 or equivalent.

GCSE/National 4/National 5

Grade 3 (or above) in Maths and English GCSE is required. Equivalent qualifications Key Skills Level 2, and Functional Skills Level 2, are also accepted.
