Course summary

You will develop the analytical thinking skills and principles of mechanical engineering employers are looking for. This programme will develop your knowledge to become a professional engineer, designing innovative products and services, as well as taking technical responsibility for complex engineering systems. You will develop competence in analysis and evaluation in order to problem solve.

Employers contribute to the course content, so you will be learning the skills that meet the needs of your specialist industry.
As part of the Greater Manchester Institute of Technology (GMIoT) we have access to a partner employer network.

The IET accreditation on behalf of the Engineering Council is available for those who progress and complete the BEng (Hons) Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering (top-up). Graduates will benefit from being able to apply for professional status as a Chartered Engineer.

You will be taught by a professional team of tutors with a range of specialist expertise - from Chartered Engineering to Nuclear Decommissioning and Design and Manufacture.

This course is ideal for those who want to establish a career in the industry or progress in their current position.

Students must also possess a Grade C/4 or above in Maths at GCSE or equivalent. Mature students with experience, a portfolio of work and employer references will be considered. We reserve the right to interview applicants.
