Placements allow you to gain valuable experience to add to your CV, make industry contacts and help you to narrow down what kind of role you may be interested in after graduation.
How you will learn
We specialise in ‘learning by doing’ so you will work on live projects briefed by a range of tourism stakeholders. These build your research skills so you can investigate challenges within the industry and devise effective solutions. You will also see tourism management in action through exciting field trips in the UK and abroad.

A Placement Year helps you develop your knowledge, understanding, skills and experience to prepare you for a career in the tourism industry. There is also the chance to join our short study visits abroad or to spend time studying with one of our international partners.

International Tourism Management is part of the Centre for Contemporary Hospitality and Tourism which is an International Centre of Excellence in Tourism and Hospitality Education (THE-ICE).
